Emily Ratajkowski Proves Gray Is Anything but Boring in a Long Teddy Coat

June 2024 · 2 minute read

Fall wardrobes often invoke warm, earthy palettes, but Emily Ratajkowski just made the case for gray as a centerpiece of autumnal dressing.

The My Body author made a statement strolling through New York City earlier this week, looking casually cool in a long gray teddy coat from Mango. (The piece, which costs nearly $1,300, is actually reversible, with the interior revealing a slick sheepskin option.)

Underneath the furry coat, Ratajkowski put on a base of black layers, which included black jogger sweats from Danzy. Finally, to cap off the look, she opted for an unexpected pop of color that playfully clashed with her gray outerwear: a lime green pair of Loewe’s Cloudtilt sneakers, which featured a knit mesh sock and a chunky platform. The model further accessorized with black Prada shades and gold hoop earrings.

This isn’t the only time Ratajkowski has taken up the mantle of gray dressing for fall recently.

Last week, she stepped out in New York wearing an all-gray set from Sandy Liang’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection. The schoolgirl-uniform-esque set involved a scoop-neck bralette and a knee-length pleated skirt. (You might have also seen Bella Hadid wearing this set at Milan Fashion Week last year, and Olivia Rodrigo wore a cherry-red miniskirt iteration for her 2023 VMAs performance.)

Ratajkowski finished off the look with a slouchy black leather jacket, black Salomon sneakers, a black Miu Miu bag, and black oval Quay sunglasses. At the time, she also accessorized with a gold chain necklace and gold hoop earrings.
