Heather Thomson: Josh Taekman Is Innocent in Ashley Madison Scandal

June 2024 · 3 minute read

After he was outed in the Ashley Madison hack last month, Josh Taekman has a solid ally in Heather Thomson. A friend to both Josh and his wife, Kristen Taekman, the former Real Housewives of New York City star doesn’t think there’s a shot in hell he would cheat.

“The Ashley Madison thing is unfortunate because Josh is completely innocent,” Thomson, 45, who has been friends with Josh for over 15 years, tells Us Weekly exclusively. “If you knew Josh the way I know him, you’d be completely like, ‘Of course he would sign up for that with this buddies!’ That’s a total Josh thing to do! He has a very fraternity side to him that I love.”

The Eboost founder, 46, was among the millions of names leaked when hackers exposed subscribers to the cheating website. After initially denying he had ever signed up for the site, Josh later clarified in a statement to Us that he made an account — but only as a joke. "I signed up for the site foolishly and ignorantly with a group of friends and I deeply apologize for any embarrassment or pain I have brought to my wife and family,” Josh, who is a business partner to Thomson, said. "We both look forward to moving past this and getting on with our lives."

Model and mom of two Kristen, for her part, has stood by her husband. “Kristen is a trooper and taking it like a trooper,” the Yummie founder adds of her former costar, 38. “Josh took it like a trooper [too] for the first season of the show when he was made out to look like such a douche when he’s not.”

As fans are well aware, Kristen has been vocal about how she feels invalidated by her husband. But, according to Thomson, their marriage isn’t on the rocks. “They’re going to be fine. They are my friends for life. I count them among my dearest friends. There is nothing but love there,” she adds.

Us exclusively revealed that Thomson was leaving the reality show after three seasons this past July. "She wants to focus full-time on her business, Yummie, her family, and expanding into the health and nutrition arena," a source revealed. “The cons of doing the show far outweigh the pros at this point, and what the show has become don’t fit what she wants to be doing. She did it to promote her business and it devolved into ridiculous fights over the ridiculous antics of some unstable women."

Thomson has yet to confirm her departure.
