The brother of one of reality TV's most noted villains, Omarosa Manigault, has died.

Jack Manigault, 40, was gunned down in Youngstown, Ohio Sunday in what police say was a lover's quarrel. According to police, Manigault — who was sent to prison in 1999 for aggravated assault — was asleep next to his 34-year-old girlfriend when Marco Cardenas, a man said to be the woman's ex-boyfriend, allegedly fought his way into the home and starting shooting.

Local Youngstown paper Vindy.com reports that Manigault collapsed with a gunshot wound to the head. Two juveniles inside the home forced Cardenas out of the house, where he was arrested.

Halfway through a two-year probation stint, Cardenas is expected to be arraigned in Youngstown Tuesday.

Though her brother had previously scuffled with the law, Omarosa Manigault remembers her late sibling as "so special to us," and says he had turned his life around.

"We thank everyone for their amazing outpouring of support surrounding the tragic death of my brother Jack," the two-time Apprentice contestant said in a statement excerpted by Vindy.com. "We loved him unconditionally and we were so proud of him when he turned his life around and gave his life to God two years ago."

"Right now it is an extremely difficult time and we ask that you allow family privacy to grieve and make all necessary arrangements," the statement continued.
